What an amazing adventure. From the 40+ killer whales surrounding Orteluis when we were barely out of the Drake passage to the amazing ever changing weather and landscapes of Antarctica. You can not imagine how awesome this place is. The expedition team were all passionate experts in their field and the expedition leader (Chris) did everything he possibly could to get us ashore, always managing expectations with clear communication and consistently delivering. Absolutely enjoyed every minute of the expedition - the activities, the comfortable ship, the amazing food, the happy crew and the diversity of passengers. If you want a real adventure you can’t go wrong with this trip.

I had been looking forward to this trip for years and was doubtful that there was any way it could meet my expectations; yet, somehow, it completely surpassed them! The Basecamp nature of the trip allowed for such variety and excitement and I couldn't have asked for more from the staff! The expedition staff, hotel staff, and ship staff were so kind, approachable, and knowledgeable. They took us to places I never could have imagined and made sure we were prepared, informed, and safe. Also, I was worried about the environmental impacts this trip would have. While I'm sure there certainly were some, their awareness and discussion of these impacts reassured me that I had picked the best company. I wouldn't hesitate to book this or another Oceanwide trip again!
I had the absolute best time on this trip. I, not only met so many fantastic travelers, but the wildlife was amazing. There were plenty of activities on the ship during sailing when we had time to kill. Along with the water/land excursions when we got to the continent. I would highly recommend this trip and company for Antarctica travel. Juan, Maria, Zet, Chris and Captain Per were fantastic to be around- can’t wait to do another trip!

I was stunned by the large quantity of Emperor Penguins with their chickens on Snow Hill Island. Helicopters brought us there. Both helicopters and Zodiacs brought us to many different places where we discovered lots of wildlife. But of course, we could also watch them from the ship when we were followed by whales, seals, penguïns or birds.

Antarctica is magical and Oceanwide made it an incredible experience. All of the crew made an unexpectedly genuine effort to get to know you and your name individually. The guides knowledge about the wildlife and geology added so much value to the trip and made it entirely unforgettable.

We had an absolutely outstanding expedition to the Falklands, South Georgia and Antarctica on the Plancius. The ship was perfect for this style of adventure. The crew were all outstanding, and the meals were spot-on day after day. The expedition team were excellent, superbly led by Ali. They genuinely cared about giving us every possible opportunity to experience everything that the area offered. My expectations were very high leading into this trip and to be honest my expectations were exceeded. The wildlife encounters were unbelievable, the scenery absolutely stunning, and the overall experience was unforgettable.
The expedition experience was wonderful and exceeded my expectations.

Never tought ice would be so inspirational. Also stunning to be so close with wildlife. Overall an amazing experience with an outstanding team of professionals on board.
I am so happy I chose to travel with Oceanwide for my first trip to Antarctica! The Basecamp trip was ideal because I wanted to experience Antarctica, and by experience I mean seeing everything up close, not from the boat. The ship was small enough that everyone could go on every landing, and the Basecamp model of operating meant that we got to try out a lot of different things, and see the continent in different ways. It's all included in your trip, you just have to get out there and do it. We saw huge penguin colonies, seals, icebergs (even saw a big one flip!!!), got to walk on glaciers, kayak in gorgeous bays. We spent a night camping (highly recommend, even if you're not into camping.) The entire expedition team was overflowing with enthusiasm for the White Continent and were so excited to share their knowledge and experiences with us... and to take us out and show us things, answer questions, and explore! The people on the trip were a big range of ages, and there were lots of people in their 20's, 30's, and 40's. Many solo travelers as well. I came as a solo traveler and was paired with a great roommate!
