Ski Mountaineering

Ready to go further? Gain higher vistas? Explore where almost nobody has ever gone before? Our ski mountaineering excursions will take you where you want to go. You’ll explore rugged peaks and majestic mountains in a rugged fjord system. Along the way you’ll have the chance to spot out whales, seals, and a wide variety of seabirds.

This special interest will appeal to ski mountaineers, snowshoe hikers and nature lovers. Ski mountaineering will be led by officially recognized mountain guides and parallel to that we offer snowshoe walking to non-skiers.

Ski Mountaineering: reaching the snow covered higher peaks

these trips involve both skiing and mountain climbing sometimes up slopes that can get steeper than 35°. A trained, experienced, and certified mountain and ski guide will lead a group of no more than 8 passengers into the steep ground that has a deep snow cover potentially dangerous alpine terrain. Passengers are expected to know how to handle at least the basics of alpine skiing techniques which includes ascending and descending off-piste terrain with possibly difficult snow conditions. Passengers will need to know how to make sharp turns while ascending. You’ll also need to be in good physical condition and we require a health statement. You’ll also be asked to fill out a questionnaire highlighting your mountain skiing and off-piste skiing experience.
