An unforgettable journey in "North Spitsbergen Explorer - Versatile landscapes, sea ice and wildlife" from 13 to 20 of June.
The boat was very comfortable, food was really good and the staff is very professional and kind, always smiling.
The program was well prepared and the weather was just great.
Excursions with Zodiacs are lots of fun (and splash sometimes :D) and they organize different levels of hiking. If you don't want to take part at the hikes you can easily stay onboard.
All guides are excellent and full of knowledge and you can see from their eyes how happy they are to show these incredible landscapes to every new tourist that join the cruise. They still get emotional and I think this is really great.
The pack ice seems unreal. We saw lots of wildlife (polar bears, whales, birds, arctic foxes, reindeers..).
Definitely recommend it!!
Overall, the voyage was well planned and executed. The guide staff and ship staff were excellent. We say any number of varieties of wildlife from either the ship or zodiacs. The guide staff was always attuned to our safety when we were in zodiacs or on land. A great trip!
Français partis en famille, du 13 au 20 juin 2024 sur le MV PLANCIUS, nous revenons plus que ravis.
- Circuit bien étudié, nous avons vu : des ours, des bélougas, des baleines, des oiseaux, des renards, morses, phoques, dauphins, des glaciers, des icebergs, la banquise. Nous avons aussi profité de nombreuses sorties en zodiac, de randonnées (3 niveaux de difficultés) ... sans parler d'une super surprise dans le nord : rien ne manquait !
- une équipe vraiment sensationnelle, à l'écoute, pro, et fort sympathique
- de très bon repas
Par contre il est vraiment préférable de maitriser l'anglais

We recently spent 8 days/7 nights cruising Svalbard with Oceanwide Expeditions. We had an amazing time. The ship was extremely comfortable - rooms were a good size, lounge area well set up, dining room very efficient. We managed to leave the ship several times and participated in some landings as well as zodiac cruises. We felt completely safe at all times leaving and refining the ship as well as inland where the “threat” of polar bears is ever present. The staff did an amazing job at keeping watch , allowing us to explore with the guides on some foreign but stunning landscapes. We saw a quite a bit of wildlife and managed to see every animal we had hoped to - even if the polar bears were safely at a distance. The food produced by the kitchen was great. Drinks were very reasonably priced. We met some wonderful fellow passengers onboard and we all became quite social. Would highly recommend this company, the crew and this ship.
The trip was fantastic in every aspect. Enjoyed every second of it and can’t wait to return.

Fantastic landscapes and wildlife viewing, great crew - all of them - including hospitality staff, guides, people on the bridge etc. Very friendly and attentive. Good food.
Everything was PERFECT on this ship, if you ever get the chance to get on board, PLEASE, do so!!!!
Plancius - [ ] No tv except for web camera on the ships deck - [ ] WIFI needs improvement; it doesn't work in cabins - [ ] I paid $260 € for Internet access. It is a little frustrating that I paid $1500 more than passengers who bought a ticket days before we left the dock and they got the same type of room as me. That $1500 should have been used to buy internet time or refunded. - [ ] The lounge benches need to be reupholstered. They are covered in pleather. Whereas real leather would last longer and look good. - [ ] The activities were great. It was a once in a lifetime experience. The zodiac drivers knew just where to look for wildlife. - [ ] The food was excellent. Jerrica had a smile on her face constantly. She knew everyone by name. That is a talent! - [ ] The cabin steward was awesome. - [ ] I learned something new from every lecture. The staff who gave the talks were confident and competent. - [ ] I did not like passengers and staff smoking while we were loading the zodiacs; that should be a no smoking area. - [ ] I was happy you sold waterproof pants. - [ ] The barbecue was a pleasant surprise. - [ ] Overall the staff, accommodations, attention to detail, was beyond

Going to Antarctica was a big big BIG dream of mine - and what can I say, it was magnificent. Antarctica feels so incredible and otherwordly, it's like Drake Passage is a vortex taking you through time and space to another planet or dimension.
I chose the "Antarctica - Elephant Island - Weddell Sea - Polar Circle" voyage simply because it was one of the longest ones still in my budget and I have no regrets - I loved seeing different kinds of landscape. All the guides told us that we were incredibly lucky with the weather and the wildlife - but I also know we were lucky because of the passion and expertise of the Oceanwide team. Everyone involved - from the expedition leader and guides to the captain and his officers to the hotel staff - worked tirelessly to give us our best possible experience in Antarctica.
I always thought this would be a once-in-a-lifetime trip. It definitely was, but also: I kind of want to go back now... - in the meantime I'll check out Oceanwide's offers in the Arctic.
