Antarctica

Great trip, great sea sick hahahah great weather.staff very very kind loved every minute of it just the drake passage was a little bit rought on the way to antartica but perfect on return with the pacth of doctor Hans we would love having a longer kayak ride,,,,would love kayaking before dinner since the sun was still high in the sky

It was absolutly fantastic, and it fullfilled all my dreams about the tour. The guide´s and the crew really worke´d hard to give us the best experience.

I had the most amazing time in the entire world on my Antarctica trip!!! :) I am very grateful for the opportunity to travel with Oceanwide Expeditions and can't wait to tell the world all about it. The Plancius vessel quickly became home and all the accommodations were in great shape — I was in the quadruple room and we had plenty of drawers and closet space to keep our things in. Loved our porthole view, the bunk beds were comfortable and the individual curtains around each bed made the room perfect and cozy. Antarctica changed all of our lives and it was the most spectacular trip of a lifetime. I can't say enough amazing things about Oceanwide Expeditions -- from the most incredible staff, to the constantly helpful expedition guides, to the delicious food and snacks, and of course the basecamp adventure activities! We had magically perfect weather and every moment was special -- I even loved the Drake Passage too! We had the best basecamp activity passenger crew and had so much fun together, definitely the best choice I could have made for a very memorable and active trip to Antarctica.

Antarctica

We had a fantastic trip with the Ortelius to the Falkland Islands, South Georgia, the South Orkney Islands, the Antarctic Peninsula and the South Shetland Islands. The crew and staff on board were very enthousiastic and positive, even when an activity could not take place, due to the weather. They always looked for an alternative. The lectures were informative and interesting. The auction for the rat eradication programme on South Georgia was very funny, especially when Adam, the Swedish staffmember, tried to repeat a Chinese bid in Chinese. Our cabin was larger and more luxurious than we had expected. The choice at breakfast, lunch and dinner was great. The weather was great too, although we had a lot of wind. We saw a lot of wildlife, like penguins, whales, dolphins, seals and seabirds.

Amazing trip to one of the most beautiful places in the world. The M/V Ortelius is a great vessel and it is perfect for this type of trips. The entire time aboard I felt safe and not once I lost confidence on the ship's strenght or the crew. My cabin was spacious, comfortable and it was kept very clean. The crew was knowledgeable and very professional and ran the trip smooth and on time. There were a few hiccups during the trip but they were caused by the weather, to be expected in that part of the world, and not by the crew. The food was much better than what I was expecting and the desserts kept me asking for seconds every day. Landings in Antartica made me feel like a true world explorer and the photo ops were simply out of this world. This trip is a most for any photographer whether you are an amateur, a pro or you are starting at the hobby. Just make sure you bring the best gear you possibly can and that you store your gear in water proof bags. I definitely recommend Oceanwide Expeditions and based on the comments I heard from locals in Ushuaia, Argentina, the company is regarded as the best and safest in the trade.

Antarctica

I have returned from this trip hungry to read all about the early Polar explorers thanks to two riveting talks by Henryk. I am looking to go to the Antarctic too as I have been wowed and inspired by the sights, sounds and total beauty of this wild and beautiful landscape. The Captain was masterful in his handling of the ship close to rocks, walls, glaciers ,ice flows wildlife and rough seas. The crew were brilliant from the laundry ladies to the Chef (delicious food) and all in-between. The ship was clean and comfortable. The Team looking after us was lead by the most able and good-looking Andrew Bishop - a man of many talents and a great big Aussie smile. Everyone was interesting, helpful, professional and endlessly willing to talk about anything at any time. My final comment has to be for Gerard - the most beautiful man with THE most beautiful French accent when speaking in English! I would run away with him!!!!!

A dream nurtured for 13 years finally came true and I visited Antarctica. The crew of the Plancius ensured that out expedition surpassed all expectations - from the briefings, information, help and totally commitment to ensure that we walked away smiling. Being a vegetarian, I was a little anxious however I was pleasantly surprised to see that so were many passengers as well as Sonja - one of the expedition team. We also had vegan passengers. All were catered for. The food was excellent: for all 10 days and no two meals were ever the same. Variety and flavours were amazing. The zodiac landings were always handled professionally and assistance provided at every stage for those who needed it. I was impressed with their patience in dealing with passengers of varying needs. We saw Antarctica and its wildlife and some of its history. The parties near the end of the expedition were fab and it was good to see the expedition team having fun and interacting with the passengers. My first cruise/expedition and I am sold on the experience. Loved every moment. Thank you to all the team and oh I loved the log.

What a great trip! Warm people, fantastic ship, beautiful animals, great weather, wonderful nature, very friendly crew/staff .... This was a very special experience. Plenty of time to do whatever you want, take marvellous pictures, well experienced staff and vegan menus on demand. I loved the zodiac trips, landings, guides and there was a wedding as well! I enjoyed it very much from beginning to end and if the opportunity arises I will definitely join the MV Plancius again! Thanks to all!

Antarctica

A fantastic place to be on a clear day. One of the highlights of the Ross Sea trip, if the weather allows.

Antarctica

I agree with Daniel, same cabin! All about the trip was fantastic, including my travel-mates. Yes the crew/staff/guides/Doctor were first class, but the real bonus was the way people mixed and joined in. All in all, SUPERB. PS a big shout for my two restaurant buddies!!!

So excellent, had so many activists,u will enjoy them so much.but the weather that time someday not so good and the food normal compair to my friends' ships, but the prize is good.

很棒的旅程,包含了很多运动项目,但是我们去的时候天气不好有几天,但是还是很棒。船上食物没有其他船的好,但价钱体验性在那就算了。如果你是喜欢体验性而不是舒适性的游客推荐这个行程!

Excellent trip. Excellent crew and organization. Great lectures and great food. Thank you !!

This was an amazing trip. Needless to say that Antarctica is an unbelievable destination to visit and all parts of the trip were perfect. Friendly crew, knowledgeable expedition team who were kind and always present, the entire trip was very well organised with clear information at every stage during the voyage. With high focus on respect for the environment. I was also very lucky that the atmosphere amongst the passengers was very nice. Definitely a trip and a ship worth experiencing.

Antarctica

Very good trip. Very good crew, friendly and professional. Very good food. Landscape is wondeful. Bedroom are clean. But : - We didn't go to ukrainian base of Vernadsky while it was written that we go. - Some people had paid 2000 euros less than me because they booked last minute. - We didn't see Horn Cape while we wasn't far. - The bedroom is too much small for three people.
