This was one of the most amazing experiences of my life. Everything was so well run. The crew and staff worked so hard to make this experience so special. I will never forget it.
Highly recommend this 13 day Basecamp trip. We saw such a variety of wildlife, got to do every available activity (camping, kayaking, mountaineering, showshoeing, landings, zodiacs, onboard lectures regarding wildlife, Antarctic safety, photography lectures, history of antarctica and more
Amazing trip on Plancius with a highly professionnal team wether we consider the captain, the cleaning lady, the guides, the cooks and hotel staff in a remote and stunning environnement. Landscapes, weather/ambiance as it changes fast, wildlife...The whole combination is unique !
This was a dream trip for me and the wildlife, scenery, and remote stark beauty did not disappoint. The Expedition leader and guides were incredible! They shared so freely their great gifts of knowledge and respect for the earth and beings of it. Eduardo, you are the bomb. Thank you, Regis, Koen, Ilke, Helene, Koen, Michael, Tom! I most enjoyed that I felt so fully immersed in the magical, pristine, awe-inspiring places of Antarctica and the remote southern ocean islands we visited. The wildlife was fantastic, the penguin breeding colony numbers staggering, the seabirds so cool. The other birders I met on the trip were so nice and what fun seeing what new would show up each day. We were also lucky to have very good weather! This was a hugely expensive venture for me but it was a once in a lifetime trip, not to be missed. If you do this trip, go with few expectations, an open mind and heart, and just be in it. I like getting lost in a good book, but this was the real deal for 3 weeks. I am changed, upgraded, in the best ways.
absolutely marvellous and completel overwhelming !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I'd been planning this trip since 1982 when I should have been going down to join the British Antarctic Survey. Events in the Falklands stopped that but I've been nurturing a wish to visit this stunning environment ever since and since my retirement I started planning. I wasn't disappointed the trip on the Plancius was everything I'd hope for and more. Stunning landscapes, fabulous wildlife, fantastic crew and guides, excellent food and a great group of like minded passengers. I'm already thinking about my next trip!
Antartica was absolutely humbling and beautiful.
We were so satisfied with our expedition! The staff was amazing from top to bottom; the expedition staff were knowledgeable and super friendly, the restaurant staff were incredibly welcoming, the hotel staff were wonderful, and the crew was awesome. We saw a ton of wildlife and lucked out with great weather which we were able to take full advantage of. We would highly recommend kayaking, it was the highlight of our trip!
Dear stuff, dear guides,
It was a wonderful trip with so many different impressions. I was not expecting that. You all did everything possible in your work areas to make me feel comfortable and safe. I have learned so much about this part of the world. I was impressed by the lectures and the guides' enthusiasm for this country. The reception at meals, the food and the encounter with the employees who ensured cleanliness in the cabin were loving. Everyone was so personal and friendly. Thanks!
Many thanks to hotel manager Michael, who helped me to have undisturbed sleep and a lovely roommate in the cabin. Many thanks to Edu, from whom I not only take Plan A, B or C, but also my enthusiasm for astronomy. Thanks for the captain who safely took us to so many wonderful places.
Thanks for the reverse tour, which was an event all its own. I would love to be there again!
What a trip, very helpful and knowledgeable guides, “hotel” staff all very pleasant. Food was excellent, lots of salads, fruit, fish etc. Staff were safety conscious. Exceeded all my expectations, the wildlife, the dramatic scenery,,the staff , the food etc. Would highly recommend the tri
Melanie and I had the most wonderful Antarctic experience with 95 of our now closest friends. The crew, the guides, and hotel staff all provide exception service to each and every guest. The wildlife and scenery were mindboggling.
This trip has exceeded all our expectations: we had fantastic Arctic weather (though a big rough sea at some days), we saw so much wildlife and the ship, its crew and all the facilities were amazing. Outside it just looked like a decor of an unbelievable wilde life film. Ice bergs everywhere, birds, penguins, whales, seals: they were all there and they were with many. An unforgettable journey, an experience you will never forget. Our expedition leader made all the right choices, our guides were knowing and unbelievably enthusiastic. Yes, these trips are quite expensive, but you forget about that as soon as the ships sails out of Ushuaia....
Organisation, Information, Presentations, Zodiac Tours and food supply were outstanding
With the trip reversed due to weather conditions we had the luck to have smooth sailing and fantastic landings at various great nature spots.
Seeing our small ship dwarfed by bigger cruise liners at the Port of Ushuaia lent some foreboding to our cruise. We could not have been more wrong! Plancius was the perfect ship. Comfortable with ample room for just 105 passengers. The Expedition guides were outstanding in their knowledge and passion for the Antarctic which they shared with us at evening briefings. The house staff were professional and congenial and the meals were varied and delicious. To be able to partake in all the onshore activities was a highlight due to the small number of passengers. A lifetime of memories!
