Antarctica

Dear stuff, dear guides, It was a wonderful trip with so many different impressions. I was not expecting that. You all did everything possible in your work areas to make me feel comfortable and safe. I have learned so much about this part of the world. I was impressed by the lectures and the guides' enthusiasm for this country. The reception at meals, the food and the encounter with the employees who ensured cleanliness in the cabin were loving. Everyone was so personal and friendly. Thanks! Many thanks to hotel manager Michael, who helped me to have undisturbed sleep and a lovely roommate in the cabin. Many thanks to Edu, from whom I not only take Plan A, B or C, but also my enthusiasm for astronomy. Thanks for the captain who safely took us to so many wonderful places. Thanks for the reverse tour, which was an event all its own. I would love to be there again!
What a trip, very helpful and knowledgeable guides, “hotel” staff all very pleasant. Food was excellent, lots of salads, fruit, fish etc. Staff were safety conscious. Exceeded all my expectations, the wildlife, the dramatic scenery,,the staff , the food etc. Would highly recommend the tri
Melanie and I had the most wonderful Antarctic experience with 95 of our now closest friends. The crew, the guides, and hotel staff all provide exception service to each and every guest. The wildlife and scenery were mindboggling.
This trip has exceeded all our expectations: we had fantastic Arctic weather (though a big rough sea at some days), we saw so much wildlife and the ship, its crew and all the facilities were amazing. Outside it just looked like a decor of an unbelievable wilde life film. Ice bergs everywhere, birds, penguins, whales, seals: they were all there and they were with many. An unforgettable journey, an experience you will never forget. Our expedition leader made all the right choices, our guides were knowing and unbelievably enthusiastic. Yes, these trips are quite expensive, but you forget about that as soon as the ships sails out of Ushuaia....
Organisation, Information, Presentations, Zodiac Tours and food supply were outstanding

Antarctica

With the trip reversed due to weather conditions we had the luck to have smooth sailing and fantastic landings at various great nature spots.

Antarctica

Seeing our small ship dwarfed by bigger cruise liners at the Port of Ushuaia lent some foreboding to our cruise. We could not have been more wrong! Plancius was the perfect ship. Comfortable with ample room for just 105 passengers. The Expedition guides were outstanding in their knowledge and passion for the Antarctic which they shared with us at evening briefings. The house staff were professional and congenial and the meals were varied and delicious. To be able to partake in all the onshore activities was a highlight due to the small number of passengers. A lifetime of memories!
I miss this trip so much already. I would not only 100% recommend this ship, I would be so happy to do it right all over again. The expedition leader (Pippa) was a dream and her team was fantastic, same for the crew of the Oceanwide crew on the ship. The whole trip really was a dream, I can't say enough good things. Time of our lives.
Don't know where to start. This was such an unforgettable experience. Superbly organized up to perfection, all the lectures making me want to go back to school.

Antarctica

My husband and I have just finished the Basecamp trip on Plancius. We are not into cruises but as this was the only way to get to Antarctica we did it and have no regrets. Apart from Antactic scenery, wildlife and the remoteness being stunningly beautiful, the staff on Plancius really topped the trip off ... every one of them. The guides went out of their way to make each day full of land activities and interesting lectures .... even piling us back onto the zodiacs 10 minutes after we'd got back on the ship as a lone Emperor Penguin had been spotted. The cabin was spacious and comfortable (the photos photos don't do it justice) and the food was of a high standard. It was a fantastic trip and I really can't think of one negative about it.
We were in Antarctica with the MS Plancius over Christmas and New Year. We slept through the Drake Passage crossing very well with the help of the medication and managed to jump off thanks to the advice from the board doctor. Luckily we had very good weather throughout the entire trip, so we were able to experience and see a lot of wildlife. The entire board crew (service, guides, reception, housekeeping and captain) were coordinated so that short-term changes to plans worked smoothly. The specialist lectures were professional and worth knowing, the support was exceptional and the program was very varied! In all a wonderful, extraordinary experience. We are already planning our next tour to the Arctic to see the polar bears ;-)

I am thoroughly impressed with this trip and its realisation by Oceanwide, and I consider myself very lucky to have been able to experience Antarctica this way. We booked through our local travel agent to get flights included in the package, and read through all the descriptions and reviews, but this trip exceeded our expectations in every way. We understood that once in Antarctica, the possibilities in trip was heavily weather dependent, but we didn't expect that the staff and guides would be so invested in giving us the best experience possible in the conditions, and didn't realise that they had the freedom and a wealth of experience to change the itinerary and make the best out of every day. We did end up having the best weather we could have had, and enjoyed every moment aboard Plancius - except the Drake Passage, where even with medication, I vomited for a day and half straight. I can't say enough praise for Pippa, George, Koen, Steffi, Carina, Marco, Brian, Tanja, Patricia, Owain and Dave for their wealth of knowledge, dedication, and friendliness. There was a wonderful vibe on the ship from all staff. To make the most of it, the trip can be truly fantastic with the right attitude

Everyday was filled with excitement one way or another. I enjoyed every second of the voyage. The operation was seamless. The activities, camping, kayaking and mountaineering, were exciting and memorable. The landing and Zodiac cruise were well executed and enjoyable. The Expedition Leader Pippa was flexible and effective. Her decision on changing the plan so all passengers could observe two large groups of killer whales gave us a once in a lifetime opportunity to enjoy the beauty of killer whales swimming in the ocean. Her bonus offer of a Zodiac cruise in Spert Island on the New Year’s Eve enabled us to enjoy the fantasy world filled with mesmerizing icebergs and rocks. All the Expedition Guides were friendly, knowledgeable, and skillful. All the lectures were fascinating and educational. The Christmas and New Year Eve celebrations were especially cheerful. All the meals were delicious. The ship was clean, the staffs were friendly, the Lounge was well equipped with books, games, cards, drinks, and snacks. I love the voyage and would highly recommend it to others.

The Arctic

Beautifull landscapes, excellent people, We were very lucky looking at the wild life (polar bears a lot).

Antarctica

The trip was absolute perfection. The staff are wonderful and the excursions are fun. Really not a single complaint about that aspect of the trip. The one complaint I do have is that they don't test for Covid and someone clearly had it on our ship because the last day I contracted it and now the whole family is suffering. It wouldn't be too much to ask to test 150 people since it's a cruise that lasts two weeks.
