Dreamed about going to Antarctica for years. Dreams do come true! Antarctica is the most beautiful place I've ever been. South Georgia was like being inside a David Attenborough wildlife documentary - never seen anything like it in my life - just superb. However, when I booked it, it was an English speaking voyage, and it then later became a bi-lingual voyage as half the passengers were German speaking. Most of the time they had German lectures in the dining room or a German translation of an English lecture. BUT, sometimes their guide would talk in the lounge where we all were and we couldn't understand and we were asked to be quiet, which I thought was very rude. They should have booked a German speaking voyage, not turn an English one into a bi-lingual one. Beware!

I did the base camp trip to the Antarctic Peninsula and I could not recommend it enough. Every single staff member was amazing from the cleaning crew, to the wait staff, the expedition guides, Rolando the bar tender, hotel management! Amazing service, amazing food, amazing experience. I will I was going again on their next boat tomorrow.

Diese Reise war einmal , die Expeditionsleiterin Ali und ihr Team waren einmalig , kompetet und besorgt ,fürsorglich, fachkundig, man könnte diese Reise nicht besser machen. Ich bin 79 Jahre alt und konnte die Reise gut mitmnachen nur habe ich keine sehr guten Aufnahmen gemacht, da gab es fachkundigere Teilnehmer. Die wissenschaftlichen Vorträge und die Ausflüge ergänzten sich großartig. Ich bin sehr dankbar, diese Reise auf die Falklandinseln, Südgeorgiern und die Antarktische Halbinsel auf der Plancius gemacht zu haben.

A great trip all round - exceeded my expectations. Wonderful caring, personable and helpful staff. Cabin was well appointed and very comfortable for two people. Food was excellent - a good selection to choose from - wait staff was very efficient and pleasant. I would highly recommend traveling with this company to future travelers.

The trip was an amazing experience. The ship was perfect for the trip, the crew and service personel were extremely polite and helpful and delivered an experience of a lifetime. Thank you Oceanwide !!

Fine ship, fine crew, great trip

What a fantastic trip. I could not have asked for any thing better. The Organisation was superb!. Right down to the requirement to arrange a special day because we had to leave the Peninsular a day early because of a pending storm in the Drake Passage. Amazing!!!!

The trip was amazing - far beyond my wildest dreams. The organisation was faultless; the Crew were pleasant, helpful and efficient; the Expedition Staff were true professionals and fun to be with; and the ship was a dream to be on. All the trips were well co-ordinated and the talks / lectures were all really interesting. I was truly inspired by it all , so much so that I have persuaded my cousin from Hobart in Tasmania to come back with me in 2020 to Antarctica (I am one of the Yorkshire members on our trip!). I hope to get to the Arctic maybe next year to check out the wildlife there, and hopefully see some of the team from Ortelius there too. I will be giving some presentations of the pics and videos etc from the trip soon and will make sure I give a good push to the need to protect that fragile environment and its wildlife. It will me my mission. I will spread the good word re OE's and hope to create interest in visiting the area in a sustainable and non-damaging way. Eine Reise , die meine Frau und ich nie mehr vergessen werden. Unsere Erwartungen wurden bei weitem übertroffen. Egal ob es die Tierwelt oder die Natur betrifft. Man kann die Reise nur schwer mit Worten beschreiben, man muss sie erlebt haben. Das war unsere 3. Reise mit der Plancius. Ich kann und möchte keinen der Besatzung besonders hervor heben, sie sind ohne Ausnahme alle Spitze. Auf diesem Weg sagen wir noch einmal VIELEN DANK. Ein kleiner Wiederspruch, eine Person muss doch namentlich bedacht werden. Es handelt sich um den Kapitän Alexey Nazarov. Der Käpten kennt sehr wohl seinen Kurs, ist aber zu jeder Zeit bereit ihn zu unterbrechen, wenn es etwas besonderes zu sehen gibt. Seien es Tiere oder Eisberge usw. Wir sagen auch hier noch einmal vielen Dank Herr Nazarov.
