It was our first cruise. And we really enjoyed it. The crew and expedition team were excellent.
We were here to discover the landscape, nature and animals, and not to kill time in a hot tube and drink cocktails.
Be reassured ! There is no hot tube onboard :-). But the Plancius offers everything normal people may need.
100 passengers is a perfect size. A smaller sailing boat may even be better for those who are not scared of sea sickness, and who look for less service onboard.
We took 2 zodiac cruises per day to discover beautiful places. Thousands of birds, artic foxes, seals, walruses, plus a few polar bears.
We were lucky with animals and with the weather. Lots of sun, calm sea and warm temperatures (5 to 15°C).
Very good conferences, plus excellent buffets and table diners. Like in a gourmet restaurant. Our opinion : more luxury would be too much.
We booked a superior cabin, which provides lots of space.
Last element : expect 55-year passengers on average. If you are 25, you may feel a bit alone.
But if you are 35-40, you will not be the only ones !
As a conclusion, we think about taking another cruise with the Plancius.
If ou ever have the change to embark; GO FOR IT! In terms of wildlife we were ver lucky and have seen a lot of polarbears and very special wildlife happenings. We even witnessed a live kill. A polar bear managed to catch a seal just in front off our eyes! The scenery during the trip and the quality of crew, activities and food is EXCELLENT!
The most phenomenal experience. Everyone was so knowledgeable and incredibly friendly. I spent the entire trip with my mouth open in awe at the sheer beauty of everything we saw and can not believe the time and effort every single person on the ship put into making it the most wonderful experience. Everything was perfect and every moment was brilliant.
Meine Erwartungen wurden in jeder Hinsicht weit übertroffen was sowohl die Betreuung, die Qualität der guides, die Unterkunft, die Landschaftserlebnisse, die Verpflegung als auch die Tierbeobachtungen betrifft. Es war eine der schönsten Reisen in meinem Leben überhaupt.
This trip surpassed all expectations. The polar bears were much closer to the ships than expected. The entire crew where wonderful and the scientists knew their subjects and talked with passion about them. The expedition leader always managed to find interesting excursions, even when the fog prevented Plan A. The Polar Plunge was an unforgettable experience.
Fantastic trip. Very well organised. Expedition leader Christophe was really on-the -ball when it came to changing the daily zodiac activities due to unfavourable weather conditions. All the expedition team were really knowledgeable and helpful. Food and cabins also very good.

It has been a wonderful and awesome voyage. I saw so many Artic animals ( blue whales, artic fox, puffings, lovely birds, walrus …….and the star for me was Polar bears I saw 8 of them , it was like a dream .I am very happy and satisfied with my voyage. I highly recommend it.
I travel much but this was really one of the best trips. Everything was just perfect. I had wonderful ladies I shared my cabin with (famous room no.205). Furthermore, we enjoyed a very friendly and capable crew. Thank you to all of them. The food on the Plancius was excellent and all the staff did a fantastic job! I will be back for sure, the sooner the better :).

Tierwelt und Natur allgemein waren überwältigend, sämtliche Crew-Mitglieder waren immer freundlich und hilfsbereit, die Guides aufmerksam und verfügten über fundiertes Wissen
Bin sehr froh die Reise gemacht zu haben. War für mich mit 83 Jahren teilweise sehr anstrengend, hatte aber wunderschöne Naturerlebnisse. Vor allem die Begegnungen mit Eisbären und Walrössern sind unvergesslich.

Ich bin mit meinem Vater mitgereist. Und es war eine sagenhafte Reise, wir hätten niemals gedacht das wir so viel bestaunen dürfen und das ich so traumhafte Fotos der Tierwelt bekomme. Das Team war fantastisch und hat alles gegeben um uns alles zu zeigen trotz der wechselnden Wetterbedingungen. Ich bin unheimlich dankbar das erlebt zu haben und kann es jedem nur Wärmstens empfehlen ! Ein absolut tolles Schiff mit super Personal ob an Deck oder unter Deck. Jeder hat die Reise zu etwas ganz besonderem gemacht ! Danke Oceanwide !!
