The voyages in Spitsbergen are organised in the northern summertime. During this period, the sun shines 24 hours a day. Air temperatures vary between 5°C and 15°C between June and September. In Antarctica the mean monthly temperatures exceed 0°C for one to two months of summerand is generally between -2°C - +5 °C and precipitation is 35 cm or less with occasional rain. The climate on the east coast of the Antarctic Peninsula is generally much colder due to the extensive pack ice of the Weddell Sea. Water temperature on dives on either hemisphere is around 0°C.
