Q: Who Owns the Falkland Islands?

The Falkland Islands (Malvinas) is a British overseas territory, but there have been several disputes over who actually controls West Falkland, East Falkland and the 776 other small islands that make up the entire region. Argentina is one of the nations that believes it has a claim on the Falkland Islands, and they even started a brief war about it in 1982. The islands have their own local government, but the U.K. is responsible for foreign affairs and defense.
