The combination of good weather, the impressive scenery and the abundant variety of wildlife we spotted make this a journey to never forget. Combined with the excellent service on board it was very much worth it.
This trip of a lifetime exceeded my expectations! Stunning scenery, beautiful calm sunny days, friendly staff and fellow travelers, fabulous meals. The highlight, though, was kayaking amongst the glaciers and tundra shores each morning, surrounded by the peaceful arctic magic.

I love the trip
We enjoyed at these fantastic and magical tour on the Svalbard Island. We were Visited incredible glaciar and fjord, we saw a variety of wildlife including 2 Polar bears and a beautiful Artic Fox. We sailed beyond the 80 pararell to the ice pack. All of them in the same trip. Marvelous
We joined the m/v Plancius for a week's voyage around the Svalbard fjords on Thursday 23 June 2023. From the point at which we were met by Sasha at Longyearbyen airport to final zodiak ride back to the harbour at Longyearbyen we were looked after incredibly well. All the staff were very friendly, courteous and helpful. Philip, the person with lead responsibility, working in close partnership with the captain and guides, put our safety and well-being first. This meant that some adjustments had to be made to the planned itinerary to take account of weather conditions, in particular, fog on our first full day and also the extent of the pack ice as we journeyed further north. Each evening Philip gave a recap on the day and then 2 or 3 of the guides would give a short presentation on a topic. These were both informative and enjoyable to listen to. The food was excellent, with plenty of choice and lots of fresh fruit, salad and vegetables. The menu was changed every day. The cabins were comfortable and cleaned daily. We returned home with lots of wonderful memories of our experiences, the people, wildlife and magical Arctic scenery.
My second trip with Oceanside, Plancius was a great ship for the Arctic and pack ice, crew did a great job finding our 1st polar bear and providing a great experience in the ice. Guides and hotel staff did a great job very much enjoyed the trip and the opportunity to meet new folks from many countries with similar interests.
The expedition leader, Phillip, was really great, as were all the guides. My group kayaked every day with Alexis, who took us to wonderful places and was very knowledgeable. The boat accommodations, the food, the entire staff were wonderful.
The Arctic cruise exceeded all expectations. The ship, crew and guides were wonderful, and everyone worked hard to make sure we got to see as much wildlife as we could and kept everyone safe and comfortable. I would highly recommend this adventure.

We had an amazing and unforgettable journey with highlights without any end. The experience in the pack ice will stay with us forever and seeing polar bears was a dream come true. The sky, the sea, the sound, the smell, the glaciers, the experience will stay with us always.
First class in every way!
Oceanwide bewerte ich mit ausgezeichnet. Diamir auf Grund falscher Versprechungen (Fokus Eisbären, Packeis... und Eisbären regelmäßige Sichtung und auch häufig sehr nahe Sichtungen) mit 3-4 Sternen). Leider gab es keinen Shuttlebus von Longyearbyen zum Schiff. Keiner konnte mir sagen wo das Schiff Plancius genau steht. Musste mit einem Anhalter mitfahren, da ich nach 40 Min. Fußmarsch immer noch nicht am Schiff war.
Das Essen, die Schiffscrew und das Programm von Oceanwide waren (trotz falschen Versprechungen von Diamir) super!!!! Besser geht es nicht. Habe noch nie so gut gegessen, die Mitarbeiter/-innen auf dem Schiff inkl. Reiseleitung sind super freundlich, kompetent und geben ihr Bestes. Leider waren es nur ca. 7-10(?) junge Gäste und kaum Fotografen. Aber dafür kann keiner was. Die Anzahl der Gäste ist perfekt. Die Ausflüge waren spitze! Die Ehrlichkeit von Oceanwide weiß ich zu schätzen (Pixelbär).
Diese Reise werde ich so schnell nicht vergessen.
Habe 11.511 Fotos, die ich noch selektieren muss. Bin interessiert mal wieder an so einer Reise teilzunehmen. Allerdings nicht jedes Jahr (mein geringes Budget :-( ).
Went with a group of 8 friends on the In Search of Polar Bears. Was a great experience. The staff and crew were outstanding. Highly recommend this company.
