The staff on our expedition cruise went above and beyond to make our journey unforgettable.i love them all. Special expedition leader Pippa, and Matt, George. Lucia !!!it is my best trip ever.

Excellent trip. The expedition team, and all the crew including the catering and housekeeping team were outstanding. Very lucky to have Pippa as our expedition leader, heard informally from several of the expedition team that she was the best leader they'd worked with. Landings and zodiac cruises very well managed. Interesting breadth and depth of lectures and activites. Very lucky to also have obliging weather for most of the trip.

We had the most amazing trip to Falkland Islands, South Georgia and the Antarctic Peninsula, everyday we kept thinking it couldn't get better, and then it did! What a priviledge to see all the wildlife and to have such close encounters with many species, including an amazing Zodiac cruise where we were in the centre of a Humpback Whale bubble fishing "net". The scenery was fantastic and made even better by the most wonderful weather. Landing at Point Wild was a real highlight as was South Georgia and seeing A23a up close (and having A23a ice for our drinks in the bar!). When we encountered a Southern Right Whale, and later a large pod of Orcas hunting Fin Whales our Captain enabled us to follow the action by slowing down and turning to keep track of the whales. The Expedition Guides, ably led by Pippa were outstanding; all able to impart their knowledge to us either during our landings and Zodiac cruises or in the myriad of interesting and informative lectures on board Hondius. All the crew made us feel so welcome on board and did everything (including cooking many delicous meals) to enhance our Antarctic experience. It's an adventure we'll never forget!

Great professional and knowledgeable expedition team made the trip so enjoyable. The ship and all the crew onboard were well organized and a joy to travel with. Nice mix of traveller's backgrounds and ages plus wonderful shore and zodiac activities. Highly recommend Oceanwide.

I lack superlatives to describe this tour well enough. The nature in Antarctica is unique and breathtaking. We saw a lot of amazing wild life including leopard seals, whales and 7 kind of penguins. The expedition staff was so knowledgeable and did everything possible to make the tour awesome, and there was never a dull moment on the ship with high quality lectures. The hotel staff went out of their way to serve us and surprise us with drinks and activities. Lots of solo travellers to spend time with.

The trip I never knew I needed until I heard it exists, a place I didn't know would capture my heart until I came home and realized how much I missed it. Originally planned as a once in a life time trip, I've accepted there's no way I can only visit once in a lifetime. This is the ultimate way to disconnect with the transactional world we live in today and reconnect with nature, science, discovery and the human spirit.

It was a long time pending wish to visit Antarctica. It happened this November. The 13 day trip in MV Hondius from Ushuaia to Antarctic peninsula was a dream come true. From departure to return, every step of the way was brilliantly done by the expedition leader (George), expedition team, captain, and ship’s crew. In spite of extremely challenging weather, we were able to get out and experience the incredible landscapes, wildlife, and activities due to the experience and dedication of the Oceanwide team. Kayaking through a sea of icebergs, Mountaineering, Camping at Kerry Point on Ronge Island where the perfect silent was broken a few times by the thundering sound of breaking ice in the glacier beside us, Zodiac Cruising in search of wildlife and landings on Antartica to visit Penguin colonies… all incredible experiences. The lectures on board and the expertise of the zodiac guides on Antarctic wildlife, history, and other topics made this trip extra special. The passengers came from a wide variety of backgrounds, countries, and ages and made for excellent company on board and off. Even seasickness on the Drake was no match for such an incredible time.This was the best thing I have ever done. Everything, from the activities to the wildlife to the friends I met on board, exceeded my expectations. This could not have been possible without the wonderful guides and everyone else on the ship working hard to make this Basecamp Expedition so memorable. Thank you!!

We had the most amazing experience! Never a dull moment. We consistently had the opportunity for zodiac cruises and making landfall. George & the entire staff were phenomenal!

Just go. If you've got this far, you're already interested in an Expidition-type cruise to Antarctica, and you should totally just go. With Oceanwide Expeditions on the Hondius. The itinerary is superb, staff and crew give their all to ensure an awesome time, and the overall experience is beyond any expectations that I had. The magic of Antarctica is something else, but doing it with a team dedicated to giving you the best experience possible and just being a great bunch of people makes it even more special. Looking to do another cruise with them in the future. Maybe the Arctic!!
