The Norwegian fjord island of Spildra
Spildra Island measures 21.4 square km (8.3 square miles) and lies about 5 km (3.1 miles) north of Skorpa, another island in Northern Norway. Also known as Spittá in Northern Saami, Spildra falls within the Kvænangen Municipality in Troms county and as of 2017 had a population of 26 people. Boknafisk and tourism are primarily responsible for supporting Spildra residents, who all live along the island’s south coast.
