all white and emperor

by Dorothea Brehm

Departure in January 2026

Comment from Oceanwide Expeditions

We are truly pleased to read that experiencing the Antarctic landscape impacted you in the same way it does us, and that your encounter with the emperor penguins will forever be a powerful and emotional memory. Seeing large numbers of emperors in their natural environment is indeed an extraordinary and emotional experience, and we are delighted to hear that this moment stood out so strongly.

As with any Antarctic expedition, the voyage is highly dependent on ice conditions and environmental circumstances. Flexibility is a fundamental part of these journeys. During your trip, ice conditions in the Weddell Sea were favourable enough to allow access to its southernmost areas, which is quite exceptional in itself. However, those same conditions did not permit a return along the eastern side of the Peninsula.

For the 2026-27 season, we have refined the route description and mapping to more clearly communicate that these voyages depend on conditions rather than fixed guaranteed routes.

We sincerely hope you enjoyed what remains an exceptionally unique journey to one of the most remote and seldom-explored places on Earth.

Thank you again for your feedback, and we hope to welcome you on board again in the future.
