Oceanwide Expeditions donates €860 to nature charities

by Oceanwide Expeditions News 21.05.2025

Oceanwide Expeditions is pleased to share that €860 will be donated to conservation charities as a result of our annual commitment to donate €5 for every new review left by a guest on our website. This is a continuation of our donations in 2019, 2022, 2023 and 2024.

The conservation charities benefitting from this donation are the World Wildlife Fund, BirdLife International, 4Ocean, and Falklands Conservation.

Our Arctic 2024 and Antarctic 2024-25 seasons were well received, and we currently hold an average rating of 9.7/10 based on 1260 customer reviews.

When submitting their review, guests are encouraged to select an organization to which their review-based donation will be transferred. Based on these reviews, our donations will be divided as follows:

  • World Wildlife Fund (66 reviews, €330)
  • Birdlife International (13 reviews, €65)
  • 4Ocean (44 reviews, €220)
  • Falklands Conservation (49 reviews, €245)

4Ocean is an American company working to remove plastic waste from the oceans. Its efforts are primarily funded by the sale of bracelets made from recycled materials. The company has pledged to remove one pound (0.45 kg) of trash from the ocean and coastline for each bracelet sold.

BirdLife International is a global partnership of organizations that seek to conserve birds, bird habitats, and global biodiversity. Many areas we visit in the Arctic and Antarctic are designated Important Bird Areas by BirdLife based on their rare or endangered species.

The World Wide Fund for Nature, or WWF (also the World Wildlife Fund), is an international non-governmental organization that works to preserve the wilderness and reduce human environmental impact.

Falklands Conservation is a charity protecting the environment and wildlife of the Falkland Islands, one of our beloved and most longstanding travel destinations in the South Atlantic.

These donations reinforce Oceanwide Expeditions' commitment to collaborating with organizations that work to preserve the ecology and biology of our global environment.
