7 Key Pointers of Website Functionality

Of the many features our website makes available to you, there are seven you won’t want to miss: You can now book our cruises online, view and download 360-degree images of the vessels and cabins, read and obtain trip logs for detailed guide-written narratives of the cruises, pinpoint the exact location of all our active vessels, clear up common confusions using our built-in FAQ, keep abreast of all itinerary changes, and see the financial information related to your bookings. This article will show you how.

1. Book Your Clients the Web Way

Book your clients without wasting pens or paper by using our online booking tool. Once you’re logged in as a partner – make sure to do this first, otherwise our site will think you’re a passenger – it’s as easy as entering the trip code (e.g., OTL11-18) into the home page search bar, selecting the cabin your client wants, and clicking “Book now”.

You’ll then be asked to enter your client’s personal information, but don’t worry: We will initiate no contact with the client.

2. Get a Virtual Firsthand View of the Vessels

The right picture can sometimes mean the difference between a booking and a “maybe later.” Use our 360-degree pictures to help tip the scale in favor of a booking. You can see these images by clicking on “our fleet” from the About dropdown menu on our Homepage, selecting the vessel you want, and clicking the yellow “Full ship info” button below the vessel description. Scroll down and click on for example, the "Show m/v Ortelius cabins" button (scroll down the page to the 360-degree views). Example: Ortelius cabins >>

3. Find Trip Logs to Save or Send

Itineraries are great for providing an overview of possible day-to-day activities before varying ice, weather, and wildlife conditions are factored in. But to get a closer look at how an actual cruise has transpired given these inescapable elements, you need the trip logs: detailed accounts of the cruise written by the guides themselves. You can find these narratives in the “Downloads” page. Just search for “trip log” and you’ll see the most recent cruises thoroughly described.

4. Track (and Track Down) Our Ships

If you’re curious about where a ship is located, are in need of some concrete route details, or you’re just interested in a dose of tech, visit the ship tracking page. You can get there by clicking “Our fleet” from the About dropdown menu then selecting “Where are the ships?” above the pictures of the vessels.

This will take you to a GPS tracking screen showing the general location of all the active ships. You will also see lines, color coded by vessel, tracking the routes of each ship. The direction the vessels are headed is marked by the arrows on these lines. You can see date, time, coordinate, and other details when you move your cursor over the arrows. At the end of the routes, identified by checkered flag icons, are the vessels.

You can control which ships and routes you see by clicking on the double arrows to the upper left of the screen, then using the side menu that opens. You can also expand a ship’s travel details from here, seeing where the ship was positioned on a given date and time.

5. Read Our Never-Fear FAQ

It goes without saying that you can always contact us with any questions you might have. But in case we’re not available when you need us, try your question on our FAQ. This feature is found at the top of the Oceanwide home page, between the website language and company contact information.

Clicking on FAQ will take you to a page populated by all manner of polar-related questions. Whatever your concern, it is likely to be covered here. But if not, feel free to contact us during office hours and we’ll be happy to answer any question our FAQ does not.

6. Monitor All Cruise Changes

You can receive cruise updates directly to your inbox by clicking “Cruise Changes” in the top menu, then checking the option “I would like to receive cruise changes in my box” at the top middle of the screen. After reviewing changes to a cruise, you can mark them as read by clicking “mark as read” at the top right corner of the screen.

Text that has not been marked read is written in black, and text marked read is written in gray. Links to the cruise itineraries in which the changed content appears are found to the right. NOTE: We recommend that you always have cruise changes sent to your inbox, since you will not be informed of changes any other way.

7. See the Financial Overview’s Virtual Ledger

You can view all financial information related to cruise bookings by clicking Bookings on the top menu, then selecting Financial Overview from the dropdown menu.

On this page you see a list of all booking options within a particular year. Commission revenues are also displayed on this page, but please note that we do not show commission amounts for block charters or whole boat charters. As such, revenues from these commissions are not included in the totals found on this page.
