We had an amazing and unforgettable journey with highlights without any end. The experience in the pack ice will stay with us forever and seeing polar bears was a dream come true. The sky, the sea, the sound, the smell, the glaciers, the experience will stay with us always.
First class in every way!
Oceanwide bewerte ich mit ausgezeichnet. Diamir auf Grund falscher Versprechungen (Fokus Eisbären, Packeis... und Eisbären regelmäßige Sichtung und auch häufig sehr nahe Sichtungen) mit 3-4 Sternen). Leider gab es keinen Shuttlebus von Longyearbyen zum Schiff. Keiner konnte mir sagen wo das Schiff Plancius genau steht. Musste mit einem Anhalter mitfahren, da ich nach 40 Min. Fußmarsch immer noch nicht am Schiff war.
Das Essen, die Schiffscrew und das Programm von Oceanwide waren (trotz falschen Versprechungen von Diamir) super!!!! Besser geht es nicht. Habe noch nie so gut gegessen, die Mitarbeiter/-innen auf dem Schiff inkl. Reiseleitung sind super freundlich, kompetent und geben ihr Bestes. Leider waren es nur ca. 7-10(?) junge Gäste und kaum Fotografen. Aber dafür kann keiner was. Die Anzahl der Gäste ist perfekt. Die Ausflüge waren spitze! Die Ehrlichkeit von Oceanwide weiß ich zu schätzen (Pixelbär).
Diese Reise werde ich so schnell nicht vergessen.
Habe 11.511 Fotos, die ich noch selektieren muss. Bin interessiert mal wieder an so einer Reise teilzunehmen. Allerdings nicht jedes Jahr (mein geringes Budget :-( ).
Went with a group of 8 friends on the In Search of Polar Bears. Was a great experience. The staff and crew were outstanding. Highly recommend this company.
The scenery and wildlife in the Arctic are stunning but the experience is made that much better when in the company of the expedition staff on the Plancius. Every activity was well planned and safety was always a priority. The ship's accomodations were really nice and the hospitality staff were always there to help with whatever you needed. The kayaking add-on was well worth the price to experience the area's beauty from the water. Excellent trip! Thank you!
The ship had very nice accommodations and great staff were excellent. Hotel staff were eager to provide anything requested. The guides were well versed

I cannot fault the professionalism of the Plancius crew - the ship was terrific, the service five star, the staff were welcoming, friendly, helpful and knowledgeable - no question went unanswered and nothing was too much trouble.
The Expedition and Dive Teams were awesome. Our dive briefs were honest and thorough, and the diving did not disappoint. The dive team were highly experienced, safety conscious without being restrictive, charming, helpful and an all round top marks. We had some incredible encounters.
Despite some challenging seas and weather, we had the most incredible trip - made easier and much more enjoyable by the crew.
I cannot recommend this trip, boat or crew enough. It was absolutely a trip of a lifetime & I wanted to go straight back out and do it all over again. Another adventure is already in the planning. Go if you can.
Antarctica is the most gorgeous and pristine place I’ve ever seen. Taking the voyage on the Plancius, with the expert staff and warm crew, made the trip all the more memorable. I would absolutely recommend this trip to everyone.

Thank you for the most wonderful trip of my life! My cabin was very comfortable and clean with ample space to store clothing and gear. All meals far exceeded expectations with plenty of choices and a wide variety of foods. I would add that the soups were delicious!
The ships staff are the most friendly group of people ever before encountered. It would be unfair to name any particular individual because all interactions with every member included a warm smile and pleasant conversation. The staff consistently goes about their busy day with dedication and pride.
The expedition staff was unparalleled. Each and every member brought a high level of expertise to lectures that were shared with passengers and presented with a personal flair in an interesting manner. Lectures held me rapt from beginning to end. Trips ashore were fascinating.
My plan is to read about future Plancius expeditions and perhaps book an Arctic adventure.
As a kid, I read up on everything I could about the South Pole, then as I got older, I started to read about all the expeditions to Antarctica. Time went by and my interest in the White Continent grew, so much so that I started to look into tours that went there. But my goal was not to just "cruise to Antarctica", but to actually set foot on the continent. Little did I realize that my dreams of doing would be accomplished a few years later. After being postponed for 3 years, 2023 was the year of making the dream come true, and what a dream it turned out to be. Far from anything that I could have imagined or prepared myself for, this expedition on the m/v Plancius became a life changing event. From the amazing staff and crew, to all the many people I met from around the world, we not only traveled to Antarctica, but crossed the circle, then went even further south (68 degrees South!), so my ultimate goal was met. But with all the adventures of the landings we made, seeing all the wildlife (penguins, whales, seals) and landscapes that defy the imagination. The only thing I can say is that this was a trip of a lifetime, and one I will never forget.
The Deep South Tour on Plancius was wonderful. The landscape and wildlife of Antartica is breathtaking and unique. Our guides and ship crew were phantastic (experienced scientists and superb crew).I wish the cook would publish a cook book! It was the best trip of my life. Thank you all so much for this unforgettable experience!!
