I want to leave again

Fantastic trip aboard the Hondius, made so special by the knowledgeable guides who were at our beck and call to answer all our questions, look out for our safety and with a great sense of humour.. i enjoyed the custom of them spreading around to eat at different tables and chat more informally with us. They were first rate. The hospitality staff were the best I have ever encountered. They were so helpful always with a happy smile on their face. I was astonished how quickly they knew our names and made each and everyone of us feel so special . The standard has been set so high I doubt it can be bettered.

It was my first polar trip and it was amazing. I come from France. The ship team and the expedition trip were perfect. The organization of this trip was perfect. Everyone was very approachable and professional. The boat is amazing. We were very lucky with incredible weather conditions, allowing for fascinating outings every day. The bears and the northern lights were here. I hope to have the chance to go back in polar areas with Oceanwide. Thanks again for this trip.

Landscape, wildlife, guides, board service, food, ship and everything I haven't listed - I was totally thrilled. Maybe this trip was my childhood dream and now it has become a lifelong dream come true. My greatest wish came true, I saw polar bears in their natural environment. The landscape impressed me and was beautiful. The small, the delicate flowers, and the large, the icebergs and colorful mountains. I would like to thank everyone again for the great trip: the captain for the good journey, the guides Frigga, Michelle, Melodie, Chloé, Irene, Pierre, Ross and the expedition leader Rinie with their noticeable enthusiasm for nature and its exciting and highly interesting lectures. Not to forget the ship's doctor Veronique. Not needed by me, but knowing that she is there to look after me. All I can say is that I want to come back and always wish you a safe journey and always a hand's breadth of water under your keel! Kind regards Brigitta

Fantastic trip to a remote West Greenland area with beautiful colors and exiting wild life. Impressive icebergs and glaciers. My first expeditiontrip on a fantastic (silent) ship. All the staff was like a warm family. Really delicious meals!

Having the crew of the Hondius around you was like being in the company of a favourite aunt or uncle – you felt safe and secure and it was always fun. They were all so knowledgeable, patient, competent and friendly. It was so nice to see them sitting with the passengers at meals and being so open and inclusive. They proved a perfect backdrop to brilliant weather, breathtaking scenery and wildlife watching, informative lectures and exciting activities. My only regret is that I didn’t sing ‘My paddle’s clean and bright’ when kayaking, and that I didn’t see an Arctic hare.

We've been waiting since 2020 to do this expedition and almost didn't make this one because of medical issues. I want to take special note of the Service Manager, Alfredo who went above and beyond in making us feel welcome aboard. Also kudos to the chef Khabir for his excellent variety of well prepared meals. Thanks also Captain Joachim for his safe guiding in these pristine waters. Thanks again for a special memory. Bill and Carla Francis

Did you know, that the Inuit people made up the word "kayak" (qajaq)? I learnt that during my trip on M/V Hondius. It makes sense to strengthen paddling skills in the area where kayaking was born: Greenland. I did five days adventurous (sea-)kayak-training in Scoresby Sund and its sheltered channels. Fantastic! Gorgeous! Awesome!

Der weltgrößte Fjord in Grönland, Eisberge, Eisbergfriedhof, Eisbären und mehr..... Die unendliche Weite, die Schönheit und Unberührtheit der Natur, Kajaking zwischen den Eisbergen... Die Betreuung am Schiff und durch die Guides sowie die Unterbringung verdienen ein 1++++

After what I consider the best trip in my life, Svalbard in 2012, I have had the opportunity to travel again with Oceanwide Expeditions. It has been a great joy, just like to be reunited to a dear and old friend. Everyone on board has been not only skilled and experienced, but also kind, helpful and friendly. On Oceanwide ships you feel safe and warmly welcomed. See you in Antarctica!

Unsere Fahrt mit der Plancius war ein voller Erfolg. Wir haben eine neue Welt entdeckt, wurden bestens betreut und informiert. Es war eine unserer schönsten und eindrücklichsten Reisen.

We came back because we enjoyed our trip on Ortelius to Svalbard. Again we had a fantastic experience with Jan and the team. Can't praise it highly enough. Great attention to detail, especially with my vegan diet.
